The Intercept reports on the Jenuwine family's wrongful death lawsuit against Washtenaw County, represented by Flood Law.
John Jenuwine was shot and killed by Washtenaw County sheriff's deputies in January after they pursued the wrong vehicle. Deputies fired 27 shots after intentionally causing Jenuwine's van to flip and catch fire. None of them called for emergency services while he died inside.
"That's something you're trained not to do," said Todd Flood, addressing the department's use of intentional collisions as deadly force.
The family's suit alleges wrongful death, constitutional rights violations and gross negligence, and argues the county failed to train and hold its officers accountable. ... See MoreSee Less
